What Is Date Detective?
Date Detective is your undercover ally in the world of dating!
The challenges of modern dating require modern solutions. With so many people on dating apps, it's hard to know who you can trust.
Date Detective is a way to anonymously share your dating experiences, and investigate the people you are interested in dating.
Here's how it works: You post information you'd like to share about your date or past relationship, including their name, phone number, and/or social media accounts. Their personal details stay private, but your review about them is public. When someone else searches for that person's name, phone number, or social media username - they can see the reviews about them!
You can also create a "Looking For Tea" post to ask people in your area if they have any info on the person you're interested in.
You have full control over your activi-tea feed, and can choose to see posts within 25 miles, 50 miles, or any distance from your location.
In addition to dating reviews, you can explore groups, where you can mingle, dish out dating advice, and swap stories.
Perhaps most importantly, Date Detective offers an affordable way to access public records and criminal history data. We believe everyone should do a public records check on someone before meeting them in person, and our app makes it easy to do so!
What about privacy?
We do not display private information about you or the people you reviewed.
Private information includes phone number, email, address, social media usernames etc.
This means you can identify exactly who you dated, without fear of doxxing them or exposing their personal details to others.
The private data we collect is to ensure your review about someone can be easily found when searching.
This data also allows us to link reviews together if they are for the same person.
This way if multiple people wrote reviews for the same person, you can read what everyone had to say on a single page, instead of searching through dozens of posts!
Can other users see my review or search history?
No one can see your search history. Any searches or investigations are private and only visible to you.
Other users can see your reviews through the activi-tea feed only, or by searching for someone who you've reviewed, but you can always choose to post anonymously and hide your username.
How is Date Detective different than the popular dating review groups?
Other dating review tools are inefficient and require you to jump through a bunch of hoops to use them.
If you are able to get in, you have no way to easily find previously added reviews about someone (unless you are willing to sift through endless posts).
On top of that, you have to hope that someone who knows the person you are dating is in the same group at the same time and happens to see your post to get any useful feedback.
Not to mention, other sites won't show you reviews about someone whose moved, and only show posts from people in your area.
